Quarantine them for 15 days minimum. Make them write a letter of apology for breaking protocol and how it ties into their inherent white privilege that society bestows on them. |

Whether you are an athlete, celebrity or one of us regular folks. We all need to follow the rules and should receive appropriate consequences. The Capitals players who violated quarantine should ABSOLUTELY be suspended without pay for 10 days. These players are not acting in a professional manner. Don't forget Kuznetsov had been suspended for using cocaine and Ovi was criticized for his actions when celebrating with the Stanley Cup. Make an example of these guys! |

where does it say strangers were in the room
all I got out of it is it's ok for the 4 guys to be in a locker room, but not a hotel room
if they had 4 women from the outside, agreed, but if the team is suppose to be removed from the rest of society, morally, they did nothing wrong |

The protocols are too strict and are not in line with what the other Major Leagues put in place. The guys are already in constant contact before, during and after games - what is the added risk of having them see each other while locked in the hotel? It is not realistic to ask players to leave for 10 days on the road and stay closed in a hotel room with no contact with anyone. |

I agree that I don’t see how it matters when they all share a locker room but those were the rules laid out and the penalties for breaking the rules were also laid out.
It may seem like overkill but seeing how somehow these teams and players are still passing around this virus even though they are under enhanced protocols shows that these entitled morons need a wake up call. |

you mean the other leagues that routinely had multiple players per team testing positive.........are those the leagues you're suggesting the NHL emulate? |

Rules are in place with the NHL playing in 2 countries. It’s not solely the USA who cannot get their crap together. It’s not the outright money grabbers of MLB NBA & NFL. Owners are losing money & the league has taken enough of a hit growing the game. Players are no more special than other ppl who are struggling while players get paid huge.
The NHL & NHLPA both signed off on protocols. Opinions are irrelevant. End of story. |

NHL virus protocols, which include social distancing and, essentially tell players to avoid contact with the general public, |
|
|
|
sharing the same airplane

as agreed upon by the NHL and NHLPA
sharing the same airplane (have to wear a mask)
the same bench
the same ice
the same locker room (have to wear a mask)
the same shower
the same hotel room (have to wear a mask)
rules were agreed upon by EVERYONE, and broken deliberately. they should be punished |

Ok so...
Pleading ignorance
Coaches & staff all wear masks during games with no fans or others around.
Players didn’t want a bubble.
Takes 4 idiots to disregard protocol that is for everyone to cash their paycheques. |

Let them hang out!
As you said, they are side-by-side on the bench with no mask.
They practice together, play together, and play against opponents without masks.
Let them hang out together in their rooms. Force masks if you want or not. They've already been exposed to each other for long periods of time. |

This is a BS rule indeed, makes no sense, like most that is about to happen in this country.
Players were forced to sign it, very few read it I believe.....just so they can finally get back at it |
